Jakarta, Everyone has different music tastes different. But of all kinds, music can be used as a panacea to relieve various illnesses and keeps the body healthy.

The benefits of music therapy has been known since ancient times. Music as a means of healing is recognized even in the writings of Pythagoras, Aristotle and Plato. They believe that music can affect the physical, emotional, cognitive and social development, and improving quality of life.

Professional medical practitioners also have linked music to health. A study has concluded that listening to music has positive health effects on people of all ages.

Music has the ability to reduce pain through the release of endorphins which act as natural pain killers. It also could divert attention from the pain and encourage relaxation.

According to a study published in the Journal of Advanced Nursing, listening to music everyday can reduce chronic pain by 21 percent.

2. Relieves stress
Stress has been linked to many diseases, including some mental illnesses that seem to only occur in people with very high levels of stress. From studies conducted show that music can reduce stress and anxiety levels significantly.

3. Heart healthy
Listen to soothing music (like classical music, Celtic or Indian) also can help reduce heart rate and blood pressure. As a result of blood pressure, also reduces the risk of stroke and other health problems from time to time.

4. Stimulating brain cells
Research has shown that fast beat music can stimulate brainwaves to resonate in sync, so that makes people concentrate sharper and more alert thinking. On the other hand, listening to classical music to soothe and improve the ability to concentrate longer.

5. Creating a sound sleep
Listening to soft music when going to sleep can help people to sleep more soundly. Sleep puts your body in good condition because it eliminates the effects of stress, depression and anxiety a person.

6. Help cure cancer
Research shows that music offers a number of benefits for people facing cancer. Music can reduce anxiety in patients receiving radiation therapy and also relieve nausea and vomiting due to high-dose chemotherapy.
